10 DAYS, 9 NIGHTS – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK, NGORONGORO CRATER & ZANZIBAR ISLAND

DAY 1: DEPART TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK & A LATE AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE

Pick you up at the hotel in Arusha at 7:00 am, and depart to Serengeti National Park (a 6 – 7 hours drive) with packed lunch boxes, arriving in the afternoon. On arrival, go for a late afternoon game drive at the enormous, famous and the second largest park in the country to experience its abundant wildlife. All the ‘Big 5’ are found in this great park and other huge number of animals including wildebeests, spotted hyenas, cheetah, impala and quite number of birdlife.

In the late evening, transferred to the camp for dinner and stay the overnight at Serengeti Acacia Camp (lunch & dinner included)

DAY 2: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE AT SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, go for a full day game drives across the famous Serengeti National Park with packed lunch boxes until sunset. It is in this park that more than six million hooves pound the legendary “endless plains.”

Every year, triggered by rains, more than a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson gazelle gather to undertake their long trek to new grazing lands. The rutting season is a frenzied three week bout of territorial conquest and mating, followed by a survival of the fittest as the 40km long column of animals plunges through crocodile infested waters on their annual exodus north. The species are replenished during the brief population explosion that produces more than 80,000 calves a day before the 1000km return pilgrimage begins. Return in the late evening and stay the night at Serengeti Acacia Camp (breakfast, lunch & dinner included)

DAY 3: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE AT SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, depart for another full day game drive at the enormous Serengeti with packed lunch boxes to once again enjoy and experience its affluent wildlife until evening.

Back to the camp in the late evening for dinner and stay the overnight at Serengeti Acacia Camp (breakfast, lunch & dinner included)

 DAY 4: DEPART TO NGORONGORO CRATER & AN AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE

In the morning after breakfast, depart to Ngorongoro Crater, The 8th Natural Wonder of the World with your packed lunch boxes for a game drive.

The crater is a virtual Noah’s Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. They are the most incredible elephants you’ll ever see in your life.
‘Ngorongoro Crater’ is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world and fourteen kilometres of isolated natural beauty. The Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor, dotted with watering holes, and shelters some 30,000 animals.
In the late evening, transferred to the lodge, and have your hot dinner and stay the overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge (breakfast, lunch & dinner included)

DAY 5: DEPART TO ARUSHA AIRPORT & FLY TO ZANZIBAR ISLAND

After breakfast, depart to Arusha Airport (a 2 – 3 hours drive) with packed lunch boxes to catch your flight at 12:45 hrs and fly to Zanzibar Island.

Upon your arrival at Zanzibar International Airport at 14:15 hrs, picked-up and transferred to a hotel, overnight at Tembo Hotel (bed & breakfast)

DAY 6: STONE TOWN CITY TOUR & SPICE TOUR AND TRANSFERRED TO CHUMBE ISLAND CORAL PARK

After breakfast, then depart to Stone Town for a City Tour, this introductory guided tour provides living evidence of a rich cultural heritage, where Arab, Indian, Persian and European influences blended with local African tradition.  Historical buildings with elaborately carved wooden doors shaded by balconies, loggias and verandas, line the narrow winding streets and are inviting visitors to get lost into this fascinating and unique World Heritage site.

The half day Town Tour includes the visit to the Darajani Town market, the former Slave market, Forodhani Gardens with view to the House of Wonders, Sultan Palace, Old Portuguese Fort, the Portuguese house in Vuga and much more worth exploring.

After Lunch, proceed to Spice Farm.  This guided walking Spice Tour provides a rare experience to prove why Zanzibar is referred to as the “Spice Island”.

The tours offer a look at small farms and plantations of the countryside and in the rural areas of Zanzibar where local people are growing cloves, vanilla, nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper and many other spices, medicinal and ornamental plants; and variety of tropical fruits.  Get the detailed description of the spices and learn how to use the different plants for local dishes, herbal medicine and traditional, ceremonies, which are an important aspect of the Zanzibarian culture.

In the evening – after the excursions, transferred to Chumbe Island arriving in the early evening, dinner and overnight at Chumbe Island Lodge (breakfast, lunch & dinner included)

DAY 7 – DAY 9: RELAXATION AND ACTIVITIES AT THE BEACH (SWIMMING, SNORKELING & DIVING)

In these three (3) days at the beach, you’ll have a chance to relax by the beach and do some sea activities as your wish at your own pace (swimming, snorkeling & diving), enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches of Zanzibar and get to mingle with other guest and locals throughout the day, dinner and overnight at Chumbe Island Lodge (breakfast, lunch & dinner included)

DAY 10: TRANSFER TO ZANZIBAR SEAPORT AND CATCH A BOAT TO DAR ES SALAAM

After breakfast, you’ll be picked-up and transferred to Zanzibar Seaport, and catch the afternoon boat departing to Dar es Salaam at 12:30 hrs.

On your arrival at Dar es Salaam Seaport at 14:30 hrs, picked-up again by a driver and transferred to a hotel/catch your flight back home.
